Side effects of taking sea moss supplements

Sea moss is linked to two major dangers.
It's possible to take too much iodine:

The earthy, underwater flavor of raw sea moss is comparable to that of clams and oysters. "The flavor of raw sea moss is probably not going to be for you if you don't like seafood," Czerwony explains. Fortunately, in supplement form, it shouldn't have much of a taste.
Aside from the taste, the texture of sea moss may turn you off: It has a slick, thick feel akin to aloe vera in gel form. If it continues to affect you, try switching to a different supplement.
Should you take sea moss supplements?
According to one study, 4 grammes of sea moss per day is generally safe, but you should consult your doctor first, especially if you have hyperthyroidism or hypothyroidism.

But whether you're only taking sea moss pills or a combination of them, keep in mind that you can't out-supplement a poor diet.
"While sea moss may have health benefits, a well-balanced diet is the most beneficial to your body," Czerwony explains. "Supplements should not be relied upon."
